Halloween // Decades Ideas

I need help coming up with ideas for this years Halloween party (the theme is decades) I like to spend time putting my husband and is costumes together so I should start figuring out what to be! He normally likes to be funny, surprising or ironic in some way, I just love themes and making them. Anyone have any fun ideas?
