Halloween // Nikki and Bear “Couple Costume”…

So, I have a question to ask, and this is coming from an insecure place on whether or not this ok. So, one of my favorite movies this year was Obsession. Everyone is talking about. My girlfriend and I LOVED it, we also love Halloween and deciding on what are couple costumes are every year. And with obsession we thought it was a no brainer to go as Bear and Nikki. I’ve been seeing Nikki cosplays on instagram, and something I’ve seen is people saying how shallow and bad it is for a couple to go as them, with the meaning of the film and everything. I understood what the movie was trying to say. And never were me and my girlfriend trying to be disrespectful to the meaning of the movie. We just know it’s a thing everyone would recognize. That’s it. I just wanted to come on here and ask: Is it wrong to dress up as them?

I know me and her will do it regardless, but I just wanted to know what other people think.
