Halloween // Would my costume be cultural appropriation

Hi idk if this is the correct place to post this but I just had a question and I dont think Google would be very much help in this case.

For context, I like to get a jump start on halloween costume ideas because I usually need more then one for various things and coming up with multiple costumes last minute stresses me out especially since I had make them and usually also make my boyfriends. So I (20 F) ask him (20 M) what he would like to do for Halloween this year. At first he said he wanted to do Jack Sparrow and I could be Elizabeth Swan but then he changed his mind and wants to be Davy Jones and he really wants to do Davy Jones and that I could do Calypso but I'm white. Do you think people would have a problem with with that.
