Halloween // Jack Skellington is the villain of Nightmare Before Christmas

Watched Nightmare Before Christmas recently and realized that Jack isn’t the hero of the movie, he is the protagonist. Looking at Jack’s actions he follows the path of a villain who, with the best of intentions, wreaks havoc until he learns the error of his ways. He fixes the problems he caused but only after learning it was wrong. On the flip side Oogie Boogie is not the villain of the movie, he isn’t even the primary antagonist. That title belongs to the government that puts an end to Jack’s plans. Oogie only dealt out his usual schtick that is regularly permitted in a town where he is allowed to be part of the parades and where commendations are given for doing horrible things, such as the vampires drinking blood. It sucks to think of it this way but it’s truth, Happy Halloween
