Halloween // Just booked a Halloween trip to Salem!

Hey guys! I've been wanting to go to Salem, MA for years around Halloween and I finally managed to find a hotel room on Halloween weekend near the city's downtown. What are some absolute must-sees/ must-do's in Salem on Halloween weekend? I know there is the big Halloween ball at the Hawthorne Hotel, but tickets for that don't come out until the summer and there are no guarantees. Are there any recs for things to do on Halloween night in the city as well? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
