Halloween // Why June 21st is a perfectly reasonable Halloween season start time

Halloween or more accurately, Samhain, originally was a big celebration to mark the end of the seasons of life and long days and the beginning of the hard seasons of death and shorter days during the winter. June 21st is the longest day of the year and is the Solstice, another very important day in the pagan holiday circuit. After the 21st the days begin to shorten, so I think it's the perfect excuse to begin the countdown/halloween celebrations for those of who cannot get enough.
