I never really got to dress up and ‘trick-or-treat’ when I was younger because my parents decided to always take me to some random store where they give you like two pieces of candy or to church where we did get a boatload of candy, although it wasn’t as fun since there was no trick or treating involved. I had dressed up like once when I was three, as tinkerbell, but obviously, I can’t remember that. :/
But yeah, I did this a lot when I was younger and when it was “normal” for kids to roam the streets searching for houses with the most candy. My friends would always talk during school what they’re going to trick or treat as later on and when they’d ask me, I’d say “Oh probably nothing, I’m going to church.” They were all so confused considering we were 7-8 and literally nobody else went to CHURCH on Halloween.
Anyway, I’m 16 pushing 17 now and still like the idea of dressing up. So now that I have more freedom, I’m thinking about what I’ll dress as this year since I might do something with friends. I have an idea but I feel my parents will say I’m “too old for it” and “halloween is for little kids.” :(
So I ask you, r/Halloween, do you still dress up?
edit: just a tidbit i also wanted to share; i’m also a huge Halloween and horror/slasher/thriller movie or series fanatic too. i LOVE that time of year where it’s literally just everyone advertising or talking about Halloween. October is the best month of the year, hands down. 🎃🧡
