Halloween // Looking for a good way to trigger spooky sounds/effects from afar. Ideas?

We'll be having a "second Halloween" this year, and I'm hoping for something where I can hit a button, and trigger a spooky laugh from elsewhere. Or hit a switch that turns off the lights unexpectedly. Anyone have some experience or good ideas in this realm? I'm perfectly willing to purchase the necessary items/tools. Thank you.
