Halloween 2017: What do you think of inflatable decorations?

Personally, those are the main decorations I use. Why? The main reason really, is the animatronics you see at Spirit Halloween are well outside my price range. Also, such things aren't sold in my tiny home town anyway; its either inflatables or small decorations like wreaths and stuff you hang off of trees.

I've noticed online that some halloween fans hate the things, because they don't look creepy like animatronics do.

As for me? Honestly, yeah, they aren't too scary, but they're still nice. As long as they're dark, they're fine by me. Besides, they're normally quite big, which in and of itself is rather impressive. As for animatronics, honestly, the motion most of those things have always bothered me. It makes them look cheap, in all honesty. I mean, you see home-made stuff on here that honestly looks better than most store-bought animatronics to me. Yeah, inflatables are technically just glorified bounce houses, but I think they look better overall. Those animatronics, it looks like someone just put a cheap halloween costume on some wire frame and have some cheap motor to make the head move back and forth. Yeah inflatables look like cartoons, but I think they look better overall. Besides, I am a bit of a die-hard fan of traditional animation, and am a bit upset its obviously a dying medium. This year, I even toyed with the idea of making my own inflatables. Part of that though was driven by the fact that none of the local stores carried Halloween this year for some stupid reason. And while they've had their Christmas decorations on display since September! Yeah, September, Christmas everywhere, and absolutely no Halloween all October long.

I don't know, what do you all think of such decorations? I've noticed they don't come up too often on this sub-reddit, though that may be because most of the people here seem to prefer dyi decorations. Though I guess you could make your own inflatable too, assuming you know how to sew, can get an air pump, and the material these things are made of. Along with some lights of course, which honestly would probably be the easiest things to get your hands on thanks to the popularity of Christmas lights, many of which come in white too!

I don't know, what do you think of the things? I like mine, and honestly, I don't have much choice in the matter either way. The AVGN though seems to despise the things. I'm not 100% sure though if he's trying to be funny, or if he's serious. He does admit to liking some of them, and even bought a few, though it may have just been for his video. He also bought a vinyl pumpkin and had even used in for several years in some of his videos, but he also goes on a tangent to bash on those too.
