Halloween 2017: And thus ends my Hallowseason 2020. Merry Creepmas!

I just finished my official celebration of Halloween by once again watching Parliament blow up.

For years now I've continued celebrating by attending Dia de los Muertos events, and these days watching 'Book of Life' and Coco on that big day or night. Then on November 5th I build a bonefire out back and project 'V for Vendetta' on the side of the house while I drink my remaining pumpkin beers. Usually some friends join in but no one was up to it in this silly year. Not even me. I watched it on the TV and didn't drink any beers since I have to be at work early. I'll make up for that tomorrow night.

That ends my Hallowseason, now Creepmas season begins. Huzzah! The Spooky season is dead, long live the spooky season!

Since I discovered this idea of celebrating a scary Christmas pre-season, I've been leaving up most of my inside Halloween decorations and lights, I continue watching only horror movies, except for the week of Thanksgiving, at which point I leave the lights off and watch nostalgic movies that remind me of the Turkey season. After Thanksgiving I only watch scary Christmas movies until Creepmas is over. I've also started buying my pumpkin beers by the cases so I have plenty to last me through Thanksgiving and on to December 13th.

At this point I finally succumb to the fat man in the red suit, taking down all Halloween decorations and skipping around town singing Christmas songs (not really). The lure of the dark side is always there. I'd leave the Halloween decorations up all year except that would make late September and October seem less special to me. The scary surroundings makes those two and a half months so much more awesome. My parents used to leave the Christmas tree up all year, it came to have no special meaning in December. Probably why I don't get all giddy when that season comes around?
