Halloween 2017: Non-food items for Trick-or-treaters?

How do people feel about giving out non-food items as an option to trick-or-treaters? Last year I got a bunch of little toy items to mix in with the candy for kids who had food allergies and they were the first things to go. I also have a shit ton of old beanie babies I need to get rid of and feel like a monster just throwing them in the trash, but most donation places won’t take stuffed animals. I was thinking about putting them out on the front porch and if any kids wanted them they could take one. Thoughts?
