You just got home from a pumpkin patch and got a good orange one. You’re sipping on hot apple cider as you walk under your yellow tree with its leaves scattered about the dead grass in your front yard moving toward your small wholesome house with purple and orange decorations splattered about the door and walls. You go in through your door where you hear Hocus Pocus playing in the living room, the smell of a pumpkin spice candle forces it’s way into your nose and you see your mom is wearing a purple shirt with a witch on it as she takes a crisp delicious looking pumpkin pie out of the oven and sets it on the already set table with a leaf pattern on the table cloth. Looks like Hocus Pocus that you heard earlier is just starting. It’s at the part where the teacher is teaching the students about the Sanderson sisters. A cold breeze pushes your hair to your back and sends a shiver down your spine, your mom shuts the door and starts the fireplace. The heat melts the residual cool feeling on your skin right away and you feel cozy. Your puppy is lying on a cozy thick orange blanket that’s on the couch and he snores away. A slice of pie finds itself plopped on your plate and you look up to see your mom with a can of whipped cream. The candle still protrudes your nose but the pumpkin pie flavor nearly overtakes it as you take your first bite. It’s crunchy and hot then soft and cool as the whipped cream squishes on the roof of your mouth. “Halloween was created by the candy companies” Max says from your humble tv. You laugh and take another bite of your pie. It’s all good now.
