Halloween // Where to go?!

So me and my boyfriend are planning a trip for Halloween this year and I’m debating on going to Salem because of the witch trials but also up in the air about New York I have a trip planned to New York once we leave from Boston but would it just be easier to go straight to New York from where I live or should I do Salem?!
