Halloween // Hallo-quarantine

We still have some time until Halloween 2020, but on the chance that we'll still be under some sort of shelter-in-place order for everyone's safety, I think it might be nice to brainstorm ways to still celebrate our favorite holiday and to share our festive spirits.

For example, I'll be putting out quite a few extra decorations this year, and I'll be asking some friends on Nextdoor and our neighborhood Facebook to politely ask their neighbors to put out decorations and lights so we can do a spooky socially-distanced walk or drive for the kids. I want to see if we can get every house on the block in on it to one degree or another. There are also streaming services that can play horror movie themes and other appropriately themed music that we in the neighborhood can all play synced (and at an not-bothersome noise level). Probably no treats this year, but at least we can potentially share a nice experience for the kids.

I'm going to finish the night by doing a watch party over Zoom, with my friends, of a classic horror movie like maybe Jaws or Alien or The Thing, with a few choice adult beverages imbued responsibly. And of course we'll all be in costume and probably have ridiculous backgrounds.

What are some just-in-case shelter-in-place Halloween festivities we could plan over the summer?
